Edwin J. Simcox
Edwin J. Simcox (Ed) was born on January 12, 1945, in LaPorte, Indiana. He holds an A.B. degree in Government and Economics from Indiana University and obtained a J.D. degree from Indiana University Law School.
In December 1986, Ed Simcox was named President of the Indiana Electric Association, a trade association representing Indiana’s investor-owned electric utilities. On March 1, 2004, the Electric Association merged with the Indiana Gas Association to form the Indiana Energy Association. Ed was elected President of the new association.
Ed’s experience in government service includes employment in the Corporations Division of the Indiana Secretary of State’s office, Secretary of the State Highway Commission, Secretary of the Indiana Public Service Commission, legal deputy of the office of the Reporter of the Indiana Supreme Court and eight years as Indiana’s Secretary of State.

Stan Pinegar
Stan Pinegar joined the Indiana Energy Association in July 2004, and currently serves as Vice President of the association. Stan’s responsibilities include lobbying the Indiana General Assembly on environmental and tax matters of interest to the utility industry, administering general regulatory activities on behalf of the association’s member companies and coordinating the work of the twenty-nine committees and subcommittees, which operate within the association’s structure.
Stan is a 1986 graduate of Indiana University and a 1990 graduate of the Indiana University School of Law. He has represented trade associations before the Indiana General Assembly and Indiana regulatory agencies since 1992. Previous positions include Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel for the Indiana Department of Revenue, Executive Director of the Indiana Petroleum Council and Director of Taxation and Public Finance for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Stan is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and its Taxation, Utility and Environmental Law Sections. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana, having served as president of that group in 2003. Stan has served on various state commissions and boards, including the Ground Water Task Force, UST Financial Assurance Board, Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission and the Education Savings Authority. Stan was appointed a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Evan Bayh in 1993.
